Jordan, one of the e36 M3 guys at HSN told me you did an upgrade to their clutch actuator that helps shift engagement and smoothness......can I have?? I heard it made a big difference.

Yeah..I'm actually interested in this mod myself. I know the M Coupes have the CDVs as well. Here's a pic off of an S54 Z3 M Coupe. Is it pretty easy to do? Or better is it pretty easy for you to do it for me, Jordan?

I can remove the Clutch Delay Valve on a e36 M3 no problem. All it really is is a spring loaded ball valve. It keeps someone who doesn't know how to modulate a clutch from engaging or releasing it too fast, or "enthusiasticly" for the rest of us.
It plays big brother for those of us that can actually drive.
On a e36 m3 it is a 15min task.
I've never done a M Coupe before, and looking at those photos I'm not sure if it is as simple as removing the valve and reconnecting the lines (as it is on the e36) but I can certainly take a look.

The CDV limits fluid volume so that no matter how fast you work the clutch the slave cylinder will not move faster than the valve allows. Makes smoother drivers out of someone who doesn't know how to drive a manual, and slows down those that do.

I think I might want you to do my CDV.....sometime when the rain stops!!

Clutch stops are useful if you are looking to shave every nanosecond off a shift, but unless you are a track/autox junkie there isn't going to be enough time saved to make any difference.
