Well IKE prevented us from driving at the BMW CCA Autox this month, so I know a bunch of ya'll are itching for an excuse to drive your cars, and get some practice in before the next BMW CCA autox on the 12th of Oct.

On Saturday Oct 4th, and Sunday Oct 5th, SCCA will be having autox events down at Gulf Greyhound Park. This is a great opportunity for those of you who can't normally make Sunday events because of other commitments to come out for the Saturday event. The Saturday and Sunday events are independent, so you could go to either or both . This will be the one and only Saturday event of the year as it's a make up for the event that was moved because of the Houston Grand Prix (that didn't happen ).

Come on out and get some practice before the BMW CCA event.

Also, SCCA runs a morning and afternoon session, so for those that can't get up first thing in the morning, you can run in X class in the afternoon.

Just an update - Based on the SCCA website the Oct 4th Event has been canceled :cry: , and the Oct 5 event has been moved to the Houston Police Academy. Registration is also being limited to 125 people, so if you're going to run Sunday, you don't want to wait too long. I haven't run an SCCA event at HPA, so this should be interesting.

Glad to see a bunch of ya'll out at the event yesterday. Great weather for an event. We just need to turn some of ya'll from spectators to drivers

There were a bunch of EVO's that did really well with all the grip in the afternoon. The normal GTI and rabbits didn't make it out this month. We also had a bunch of RX-8 & Miatas. My class (STA) was the battle of the BMW S54 engine, and on my last run I pulled off a great run and beat both of the E46 M3s.

The next local event is a BMW CCA event in 2 weeks also at Houston Police Academy. All makes and models are welcome. Randall and his GTI is already signed up.
